EA App officially launches for PC, replacing Origin

EA has officially announced the launch of its newest PC app, the EA App . With this, users can now download the program, which has spent the last few months in the Beta testing phase. According to the company, the app is intended to fully replace Origin on  Windows systems , “offering a faster, more reliable and streamlined gaming experience” .

Also according to EA ‘s blog post , the EA App offers features such as automatic game downloads and background updates, while also providing a new base for gamers to access and purchase their PC games. According to the developer, the app will be its “fastest and lightest” program to date.

Your local and cloud saves will carry forward, ensuring you can pick up where you left off. Your friend lists will also be carried over, so you don’t have to worry about remembering all your player IDs

Electronic Arts

With the novelty, there will now be a transition from Origin , which launched almost 13 years ago, to the EA App . Soon and gradually, users will receive invitations to make the change. All previously installed games and content will be ready to be transferred to the company’s new application.

In addition, players will be able to create friends lists by connecting the EA account with other platforms and services such as Xbox, Steam and PlayStation . In this way, it will be possible to keep in touch, in addition to being able to observe which games are being played by friends and, with that, join games with other users.

The new EA App is now available for PCs with Windows support . Mac players , however, will still not be able to access the program, with Origin as EA’s platform until the company decides to release the app for Apple ‘s device .
