One more laptop is among us. Logitech today announced the Logitech G Cloud , its first handheld console. The novelty is a partnership between the company and Microsoft and Tencent Games . The main difference of the device is that, unlike most laptops, it is focused on cloud gaming , that is, it was made especially to play in the cloud.
The laptop will offer access to different cloud game libraries, including Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW , the two main platforms in this segment. However, it will be possible to install more cloud gaming services via the Google Play Store . The device also supports Remote Play with an Xbox console . That way, you can run your games on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S and use the internet connection to play games on your laptop in another room in the house.
Logitech G Cloud is different from Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck . It lets you access your favorite cloud gaming service without having to rely on a TV or computer. Thus, it is not capable of processing and running games at a hardware level, operating only connected to the internet to run games through the cloud.
The small console comes with a 7” display with FullHD (1080p) resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate and 450 nits peak brightness . The battery promises up to 12 hours of autonomy . It also incorporates a set of echo-canceling stereo speakers and microphones for online gaming, although it is also possible to connect headphones via its standard P2, Bluetooth 5.1 or USB-C port. Still speaking of connectivity, it works through Wi-Fi connection.
The G Cloud runs on Android and adopts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor with a 750 MHz Adreno 618 GPU , thus being compatible with hundreds of games from the Play Store . According to Logitech , there will be more than 1,400 titles available initially through Xbox Cloud Gaming , NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Google Stadia .
Logitech G Cloud Pricing and Availability
It is available for pre-order now, costing US$ 299 (R$ 1,549 at the current price). After the launch, scheduled to take place in less than a month, on October 17 , the value will rise to US$ 349. Initially, only consumers in the United States and Canada will have access to the laptop, with no expected arrival in Brazil.
